This arcade bar looks like a noisy room from the 1970s-there are sex toys in the claw machine

Players Club is a 70s-style underground arcade bar. It opened in Logan Circle on March 12th. It has all classic games: Pinball, Skee-Ball, coin-operated pool table, Pac-Man.

Then there is the claw machine...only this gripping toy.

"Why not?" said co-owner Ian Hilton, who runs Brixton, El Rey, and other bars centered on U Street with his brother Eric Hilton. "How are you going to make a big man a claw machine?"

The claw machine will be filled with condoms, KY-Jelly, “rings that don’t fit on your fingers”, “things that suit him but are good for her,” “maybe there are prostheses everywhere,” Hilton said. Free drink tickets And cigarettes may also be mixed together.

"We have to be careful, because someone from us has come to us for the Bar Mitzvah," Hilton said. "I thought,'Oh, oh, what shall we do?'"

The claw machine will also have more PG prizes such as basketball and hockey tickets. There are many other old-fashioned fun in other places in the bar, including old-fashioned board games such as Clue, Life, Risk, Mork & Mindy, and Bionic Crisis. You can also take some pictures in the photo booth-keep it clean, guys!

Architect Michael Francis is behind Maketto and Hilton's new Pod hotel project. He designed the wood-paneled "recreation room" with vintage lounge furniture and vintage wallpaper. Old comics, trading cards and album covers are embedded under the top of the bar, and the restrooms are decorated with Tetris-style tiles.

"We wanted to create a 70s atmosphere, like a joke," Francis said. For example, the Play Club is actually a tribute to discount resort and casino advertisements starring singer and actor Telly Savalas.

As if the sex toy claw machine is not enough for entertainment, I look forward to a lot of TV games, occasional DJs and CD jukeboxes.

The bar will offer eight kinds of draft beer, about 20 bottles and cans of beer, and a small number of cocktails. But the most important thing is: The Play Club has reached an agreement with its neighbor Shake Shack upstairs so that customers can order burgers without leaving the bar.
