Super Rare Games announced that "Paradise Machine" is the first game in its "Super Rare Shorts" series of purely physical Switch games.

The game is developed by Glass Revolver, the studio behind ITTA and House of God, "a chaotic, fast-paced roguelite game with the background of a space train flying to heaven." In the game, you will play the role of Jack and explore randomly generated trains while grabbing items, blowing up enemies, and fighting monsters.

Pre-orders for the game are open from now until December 22nd-remember that this is a physical-only version (meaning it will never be released digitally on the eShop), and all pre-orders made during this period All will be completed, there are no restrictions or numbered copies at all.

Here is more information about super rare shorts:

"After a year of hard work, we were ecstatic and finally handed the paradise machine into the hands of fans. As the first version of our new Super Rare Shorts brand, this represents the first step of Super Rare Games in our pursuit. Stride to become the best friend of indie games.

Super Rare Shorts is a completely original game that we fully funded and developed, and is only released in physical form on Nintendo Switch-never digitally released on consoles.

The goal of our collaboration with Shorts is to promote the development of independent developers and help realize ideas that are generally considered too small by publishers. With the visibility of digital indie games, even small publishers are increasingly signing up for a larger range of indie games, we hope to showcase exciting games from budding and experienced independent developers, otherwise these games will never see the light .

In order to save, Super Rare's Shorts series of games will eventually land on itch.io; Super Rare Games said: "The content of the short film is complete, and the game will never be updated. Your physical version will never be inferior."

Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon in order—even though he is so introverted that he can't be found anywhere near the party, he calls it "party tricks." He prefers to spend a night with Mario Kart and eat a pizza, we can't say that we blame him.

Hmm...not sure about this. Well, it's messy.

I still don't know about it. It seems to be a step backwards in modern terminology, to me it just means keeping options. Although I realize that independent production is indeed struggling with funding, it seems that only entities can attract fewer viewers, and numbers help expand the scope.

I am not interested in it myself, but at least it's open for booking. Only a small amount of real objects = scalpers are sold out immediately.

Basically, they are committed to making games for scalpers and will not let any other potential Switch users access them in the foreseeable future. Pull the reverse "number is the future" way.

I think this is a very good idea, but I don't like the game itself. However, please pre-order the Devil Throttle in the special reserve. The same transaction: never digitize.

I know what lmao I don't buy

The appearance and gameplay are the same as other 8-bit dual joystick shooting games. You can check it out if the price is right.

Insta did not buy from me. Don't chase printed matter.

Just as someone has commented on these pure physical games before, this model is meaningless, because consumers have to book before they can see any reviews. If it succeeds, it's great on Super Rare, but it doesn't suit me, even if the trailer is interesting.

Am I the only one who finds the trailer visually difficult to understand? Throughout the video, my eyes cannot focus on a single thing. It felt like I saw everything at the same time, nothing.

It looks like a game I will buy on Eshop for $3

At first I thought it was a spaceship 😂 Wow... the future of the game is here

This looks like entering the dungeon, my favorite indie game! Oops, this is only physical. Otherwise I might buy it 😝

This is weird and stupid-there is only a physical version on the Nintendo Switch, and only a digital version on the PC. Why not launch a digital eShop? sigh

Which madman in the company decided not to release the eshop version? Commercial suicide in this era.

I understand most people’s skepticism about pure physical distribution, but in the short term, I think this is a kind of genius marketing. The design of the eShop is so bad and so messy that the legitimate great games are buried under a lot of filler and overshadowed by more compelling versions (Stardew, Cuphead, Hollow Knight, etc.). I think the purely physical approach will at least make more people pay attention to the game, which is a great thing. In addition, this game looks absolutely great, and I understand why it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

@Boogaloo_Jenkins The House of God looks the same and is available on Steam. I dare to say that nothing can stop the game from being released, but it remains to be seen what the difference is. This is certainly not a "completely original..." game.

It's just physical...unless you have a fixture or an hwfly...

I want to know where this "body only" trend comes from.

Since June (ends on November 15th), Special Reserve Games has launched a physical game "Devil Throttle", which is available for pre-order.

I have a feeling that these physical games would be terrible. So far, I think I am right.

@Solomon_Rambling review has just been published: https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch/heavens-machine

I think some people will still buy it because of its rarity. In the next few years, it may become one of those cult games sold at absurd prices.

This must be one of the dumbest business decisions I have seen from a game company in a period of time. Not only do they influence sales by never making digital releases and only producing physical copies within certain windows, but they also promise to never update or improve these games after release. The comments have indicated that the heaven machine is a mess, but no, they can't fix it with a patch because it would offend physical cartridge purists or other things.

I think that companies like Super Rare provide valuable services by focusing on physical media, but initiatives like this confuse me.

Pure physical indie games are a bad idea.

If we can call it a "no update policy" from the start, it doesn't seem to be a feature anymore.

This is a difficult pass, and I totally approve of physical fitness. The problem is that its operation is limited. I will wait for reviews of games that I don't know about, but when the reviews appear, it will be sold out. So, I reject it, so it won’t break my hearing *runs into the bathroom uncontrollably sobbing*

This model is shady at best and should not be supported.
