The Sunset Extension Club will hold a meeting at Trinity United Christian Church on Tuesday, October 19. President Dennis Smith started the meeting with a pledge to the flag, club creed and mission statement. Members answer the roll call by saying who they want to eat with. 

Conference host Dee Blessinger leads the group members in this month's song "Deep in the Heart of Texas". She brought an item of interest, a music box in the shape of a pedal sewing machine with patterns, fabrics and scissors inside.

In the citizen report, the team talked about the need to rent out more apartments, duplex apartments, etc. in Jasper. They emphasized the need to make these rents affordable to more people. 

Janet Epple took a health and safety class "Grapes are great". She said grapes help blood flow and blood pressure. They can also help fight cancer. 

The secretary and treasurer's report was read and approved. Mrs. Smith reported on the county council meeting held in September. She said, Make a Difference Day is October 23. The club decided to donate to the 4-H organization for this project. She also talked about the extended exhibition held at the museum on November 18th and made suggestions on what members can bring to the exhibition. 

Judy Hubster gave a lesson on "Oh, no, I think I was cheated." She told about the steps you should take if you think this has already happened. 

The door prize was won by Ann Buechler, and the attendance prize was won by Janet Epple. The game prizes were awarded to Janet Epple and Denise Smith. 

The next meeting will be held at Trinity on November 16th at 4pm. Priscilla Starkey will serve as the hostess.
