The new game codenamed "Moneyball" has entered the early development stage and will be restored after UFC 5.

Development sources said that Electronic Arts will revive its classic boxing series Fight Night in the near future.

According to people familiar with the EA Sports brand plan, the new Fight Night code-named "Moneyball" has been approved and entered the early development stage.

However, the first part of the series ten years later may be several years away from its release. This is because EA Canada decided to temporarily suspend its core development in order to prioritize the next EA Sports UFC game scheduled for the end of next year.

In a studio-wide email seen by VGC, EA Canada told the staff that in the foreseeable future, its focus will be on EA Sports UFC 5.

The email explained that fierce market competition has made it challenging to staff "Fighting Night", the game is intended to enter the production phase with UFC, and that it does not want to divide it between the two fighting game projects. Senior creative staff.

It was therefore decided to “temporarily” suspend the development of the game to ensure that UFC 5 will be delivered with “high quality”, the email said.

"We are very excited about UFC 5, and... we want to eliminate past differences among several members of our leadership team so that we can focus on providing high-quality migration and UFC 5," it wrote.

Little is known about this new boxing game, but it is understood that EA sees revival as a means to regain its foothold in the fighting game market.

When asked to comment on this story, an Electronic Arts spokesperson pointed out that the company's policy is not to respond to "rumors and speculation."

The Fighting Night series was released for the last time with the Fighting Night Champion in 2011, and it has been well received by critics. All five of its works received high Metacritic scores in the mid-1980s.

Some believe that the complexity of the world’s largest boxer portrait license-and the increasing fees-over the past decade has prompted EA to focus on the UFC and agree that it can agree on a comprehensive deal for all athletes.

However, we were told that fans and the boxing community are calling for the series to return, and EA knows the demand.

Last year, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua both appeared as UFC 4 pre-order bonuses, and Eddie Hearn, the promoter of the former, claimed that he had launched a Fight Night game to EA.

"I have proposed this little fight night to EA Sports," he said in the live video (embedded above).

"This is not just a virtual game, it is much more complicated than that... I received a call from EA Sports the other day, and I kept telling them that every time I mentioned Fight Night on social media, I Will go crazy."

"I think the return of EA Sports Fight Night will be huge."
