Chicago (CBS)-The doorbell camera captured a shameless shooting at the front door of someone near Shipman in Chicago. Now neighbors are particularly worried about where it happened.

At around 7 pm, a car can be seen cruising on West 123 Street, but two people behind it are unloading guns at it. The doorbell video captured the masked suspect.

"What I saw were the two young people. I was scared. I was worried about my family," said a woman who described them as coming from near her home. She didn't want to be recognized.

She heard gunshots and hurried her young grandchildren to the back of the house.

"I thought it was a machine gun. The way it rattled so quickly," she said.

The police told her that the suspect was likely to run near many houses nearby. A bullet even penetrated the front window of another house-entered its living room, but no one was injured.

"It's close to home. You've heard of it elsewhere, and now it's in my yard," the lady said.

Her yard is only a few feet away from a place for entertainment, which is why she is worried.

"Not only my family, but everyone's family. We are across from the park."

She lives across from West Pullman Park.

Just a few months ago, in August, Geri Jones and the St. Titus One Youth Anti-Violence and Mentoring Program led a community-wide activity called "No Crime Day" to encourage young people to carry out fruitful activities. It prevents some young people from getting into trouble.

After watching this video, Jones called on local and state leaders to help community organizations do more.

“Many grassroots projects like ours were funded in the summer, but during the year, nothing happened. The children were just thinking about it,” Jones said.

She paid for the basketball tournament and other activities out of her pocket later in the Christmas holiday.

This is the solution to curb violence-in place-hopefully the effort will become stronger and stop these shootings.
