PS5 stock – live: Game and Studio restocks available now – find the best deal on the console

2022-06-25 00:08:48 By : Mr. Jack Cheng

Update 23 June: The PS5 is in stock at Game and for BT customers at the BT Shop. It is also in stock at Hughes, Studio and The Game Collection. Read on for more information.

Since launching in 2020, the PlayStation 5 has been notoriously difficult to get hold of. Supply chain issues stemming from the global pandemic have brought production of Sony’s latest games console to a standstill.

Thankfully, the situation has improved in recent months. The PS5 was pretty much in stock throughout the entire month of May, with Game leading the charge. We had nearly 108 restocks across the month – the most we’ve ever seen since Sony released the console. And as we approach the end ofJune, the month has so far continued this momentum, with Game, EE and the BT Shop being in stock for much of the last few weeks.

Saying that, buying a console on its own is still more difficult than picking up a bundle, with standalone consoles selling out in the blink of an eye, while digital consoles (bundles included) have been non-existent. But we’re here to help, whether you’re after a bundle or the standalone PS5 disc and PS5 digital edition consoles.

Still hunting down the elusive PlayStation 5? Our goal is to secure you a next-gen machine, as well as provide you with the details on the best games and accessories to grab alongside your new console, plus the latest game reviews.

If you want to find out which online retailers will be the first to restock, then keep scrolling to receive updates as they happen.

Base has just dropped an expensive PS5 bundle onto its website. While it is a pricey one, the bundle is rammed full with official Sony PS5 accessories.

The retailer is currently selling a PS5 disc edition console with a copy of Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, an extra white dualsense controller, a pulse 3D wireless headset and a controller charging stand. How much will you have to fork out? An eye-watering £720.24.

Paramount Plus is finally available in the UK. It coincides with the release of several big-ticket shows exclusive to the platform, including Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery and the live-action videogame tie-in Halo. You’ll also be able to watch classic MTV and Comedy Central shows like Beavis and Butthead and South Park.

Paramount Plus is available on the PlayStation Store in the UK, so head over there if you want to get it on your console. Interested in getting a free trial? Have a read of our Paramount Plus guide below.

US PS5 hunters, the restocks are finally starting to pick up. After a drop at PS Direct yesterday afternoon (US time), those who weren’t able to secure one will be able to pick a console up from GameStop in select stores today.

To purchase the bundle, you’ll need to be a PowerUp Rewards Pro member, and the retailer will only be selling the console as part of a bundle. Crafty customers have been buying one of GameStop’s expensive bundles and then returning the extras.

OK, if you want to be technical about it, it’s a penny more expensive than BT‘s bundle, but buying the bundle from Game is a million times easier – you don’t need to be a BT Broadband customer or a Game Reward Elite customer or anything. You can just click that lovely “Buy now” button without any fuss.

Plus you’ve got more options. The retailer is currently selling the PS5 console with Horizon Forbidden West and either a midnight black dualsense controller or a white one (£549.98, Game.co.uk).

You can view the rest of the console bundles on Game’s bundles page.

So it seems like the BT Shop‘s cheapest PS5 bundle, which contained a Horizon Forbidden West download code has now sold out, but the retailer still has another package going, and it’s still the cheapest – just.

The retailer is currently selling a PS5 disc edition console with an extra white dualsense controller and a copy of Horizon Forbidden West (£549.97, Bt.com).

If you’re not a BT Broadband customer (you need to be one to buy the console), then it’s only cheaper than Game’s cheapest bundle by a penny. But a saving is a saving.

Good morning PS5 hunters and happy Friday. Welcome back to The Independent’s PS5 restock liveblog, where we’ve made it our mission to secure each and every one of you a PS5 console (with the best deal).

Currently, the PS5 is in stock at six different retailers. You can currently buy a PS5 from Game, the BT Shop, Hughes, Studio, Base and The Game Collection, but as always, all the consoles are being bundled with games and accessories, bumping up the price. Looking for something cheaper or a standalone console? Stick around, we’ll be here all day bringing you the latest.

Well that’s all from us for another day, we hope you’ve managed to grab a PlayStation 5 using our timely advice and expert insights. Oh, that sound you hear? That’s the gentle patting of our own backs.

Before we go, please enjoy this recap digestif of sorts. The PS5 is in stock at Game (check a few similar bundles if the one you want isn’t available) and for BT customers at the BT Shop. It is also in stock at Hughes, Studio and The Game Collection.

Still holding out for a solo console with no frills or accessories? Then join us again tomorrow when we’ll be resuming the search all over again.

Gamers in the UK can register their interest for a chance to buy a PS5 straight from PS Direct, Sony’s official storefront for consoles and accessories. If chosen, you’ll get early access to buy the console before anyone else.

All you need is the email address associated with your PSN account and off you go. Invitations are usually sent out at 9.30am in the morning. Any remaining consoles are made available to everyone else at around 11am.

Amazon restocked the PS5 as recently as Tuesday, so we don’t expect to see more consoles any time soon. There’s still a chance we might get another drop before all of the Amazon Prime Day fun kicks off on 12 July.

Amazon Prime Day early deals are here

We don’t expect we’ll see discounts on the console, but we recommend adding the PS5 to your wish list now so that you can check out easily when it comes in stock.

They’re sold out now, but bundles at the likes of ShopTo and Game usually come with an extra dualsense controller in the box, but do you really need one?

Local multiplayer is obviously the main reason to get hold of a second pad. It’s essential if you’re hoping to play some two-player games such as It Takes Two, one of our favourite games on the PS5.

But even if you’re only playing with yourself, it’s handy to have a second controller that can be swapped out and charged when the battery starts to get low.

In our review we said: “It’s the natural next step for a PlayStation controller and it’s arguably the best thing about the console. A second one is an essential addition for everyone but the most antisocial player.”

Game has restocked its PS5 bundles.

The cheapest PS5 bundle comes with Horizon Forbidden West and an extra controller for £579.98.

Sold out? Try one of Game’s other PS5 bundles.

If you’re hoping to pick up a new PS5 from Currys, then you’re going to have to sit tight a little while longer. The console is defiantly out of stock.

Based on previous restocking patterns, we expect Currys to have more PS5 consoles arriving soon. The retailer tends to receive more stock once per month.

Like so many other stores, Currys loves a bundle. By tacking accessories and games on to the console, retailers can repel scalpers and extend the lifespan of a restock.

Let’s recap the current stock situation. Where can you buy a PlayStation 5 online right now?

It’s all bundles we’re afraid, so here they are starting with the cheapest.

There’s one official PS5 bundle out there, which comes with a copy of Horizon Forbidden West and costs £499.99. You can tell it’s official because it comes in this lovely outer box.

So what’s the game all about? Horizon Forbidden West is the follow up to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn and follows hunter Aloy on her journey across the west coast of an apocalyptic United States.

We absolutely loved our time with Horizon Forbidden West. Our reviewer said: “In Horizon Forbidden West, Guerilla Games has developed its post-apocalyptic marriage of technology and nature to craft a beautifully realised vision of a world desperate for rebirth.

“The story will take new players to unexpected and breathtaking places, and fans of Horizon Zero Dawn will have plenty of their questions answered. While Horizon Forbidden West takes great leaps in its visual and story presentation, it stays the path with its gameplay, making small but notable additions that improve the experience. Not much has changed since Zero Dawn, but when that gameplay revolves around hunting mechanical dinosaurs, why would you want it to?”

Argos is sold out of the PlayStation 5. Sorry. We wish it wasn’t the case, but it is.

The retailer occasionally receives a smattering of PS5 stock dotted about random branches up and down the country, making it hard to predict where Sony’s console might pop up next. When it does appear in stock it tends to sell out quickly, so we’d recommend using the Argos app to purchase the console. For reasons beyond the expertise of this humble stock tracking liveblog, the Argos app seems to get priority over the website when it comes to popular, fast-selling items.

The cheapest PS5 bundle at Hughes this morning comes with Sackboy, FIFA 22, an extra controller, the PS5 media remote and a charging dock.

That little lot will set you back £669.94, which is a big reason why it’s one of the few places with consoles still in stock right now. The PlayStation 5 by itself costs £449.99. The version without a disc drive costs £349.99.

If you’re after a PlayStation 5 without any accessories or games, turn away now because there’s more bundle fun at Studio.

The online retailer is selling the official PlayStation 5 + Horizon Forbidden West with an extra dualsense controller and a copy of Gran Turismo 7 . The racing simulator features split-screen local multiplayer, so that extra contoller will come in handy next time you’ve got friends round.

The Game Collection lives up to its name with a game-rammed bundle packed with next-gen titles that we’d ordinarily recommend anyway.

It’s a PS5 disc edition bundle and comes with Elden Ring Launch Edition, Deathloop, Back 4 Blood, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Watch Dogs Legion, Fortnite, The Last Laugh Bundle and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.

It costs an eye-watering £759.95, which isn’t too bad when you consider the sheer amount of stuff you get.

The long-awaited overhaul of Sony’s premium subscription service has finally arrived in the UK this morning.

PlayStation Plus now offer three tier to choose from. The basic plan costs £6.99 and nets you all of the online, cloud saving and multiplayer functionality you’re used to.

The new “extra” and “premium” tiers cost more and unlock a growing library of PS4 and PS5 games, as well as retro classics and exclusive demos.

We’ve got all the PlayStation Plus UK launch news in this helpful little article. It explains everything.

The new PS Plus service has just gone live in the UK – here’s what tier to buy

The PS5 has been in stock at the BT Shop for an entire month now, and it’s supply of consoles doesn’t seem to be waning. It has also consistently had the cheapest console bundle in stock for weeks on end, sometimes being surpassed by retailers with the standalone disc or digital console.

Why? Well, it’s probably because BT locks its consoles behind a heavy metal door, which can only be unlocked by BT Broadband customers with an access code. That’s right, if you’re not a sacred Broadband customer, tough luck, you won’t be able to buy the console.

You can buy the PS5 disc edition console with Horizon Forbidden West for £449.99 (Bt.com), and you can find an access code on the MyBT portal.

Hello PS5 hunters and welcome back to The Independent’s PS5 restock liveblog. After a fairly eventful Wednesday, it seems like the PS5 has now sold out at Argos.

But fret not, because it is currently still in stock at the BT Shop for BT Broadband customers, as well as Hughes, Studio and The Game Collection. Granted, the latter three are pretty expensive, but you’ve still got options! Either way, we’ll be here all day bringing you the live restock updates as they happen. Stay tuned!

As we bring another day of PS5 hunting to a close, it appears that consoles are still available at Argos, but only in some regions of the UK. We can also see that The Game Collection’s massive £760 PS5 bundle is still available, and consoles with Horizon Forbidden West are still in stock at the BT Shop, but these are exclusively available to existing BT customers.

As ever, we’ll be back tomorrow for another day of PS5 restock live-blogging.

While we wait for the next PS5 restock, it’s time to think about upgrading your television. The PS5 outputs video at 4K resolution and can even handle games running at 120 frames per second. That’s something not all TVs can manage, so if you want to see your new console running at its best, a new TV could be worthwhile.

We’ve rounded up nine of the best 4K TVs available right now, from manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic, among others. And the great news is you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a great 4K television – prices of our favourites start at under £400.

Sony is rolling out a major upgrade to its PlayStation Plus subscription service. The updated offering will provide access to Sony’s library of classic PS4 games, as well as PS5 exclusives and retro titles from earlier consoles, as well as exclusive demos of upcoming games.

The service launches with three payment options, called essential, extra and premium.

Landing in Asia on 24 May, the new PS Plus came to Japan on 2 June then the Americas on 13 June. Lastly, it will arrive in Europe tomorrow, 23 June. Below is everything you need to know about the new PS Plus service.

New PS Plus service will include blockbusters like God of War and retro PS1 games

If you’re feeling flush and want to pick up a PS5 with loads of games, then The Game Collection has a bundle for you. Priced at a hefty £759.95, the deal includes a PS5 disc editon, plus all of these games:

While we wait for more PS5 consoles to come into stock, how about a new laptop? We’ve just reviewed the brand-new MacBook pro with Apple’s equally new M2 processor and gave it a score of 8/10.

On the new laptop’s performance, our reviewer said: “Performance on the new MacBook pro is faster than on the already-lightning-fast previous model of MacBook pro. This is the reason you would want to upgrade to it.

“Apple’s pro models live up to their names by making super-demanding programs run like Usain Bolt. If your computer needs to include these power-hungry apps for things like video editing, for instance, you’ll be grateful for this. You’ll be able to have more hi-res windows open and running at speed at the same time.”

The Smyths Toys website doesn’t have any PS5 stock at the moment, but says more is expected in June. As long as there aren’t any delays, this should mean fresh PS5 stock will land at Smyths before the end of next week. This only applies to the disc edition though, as the retailer says new digital edition stock is expected at some point in 2022, with no month mentioned.

Horizon Forbidden West is bundled with just about every PS5 console available at the moment. So we thought we’d give you a quick rundown on what we think of the game.

A follow up to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, it follows hunter Aloy on her journey across the west coast of an apocalyptic United States.

We absolutely loved our time with Horizon Forbidden West. Our reviewer said: “In Horizon Forbidden West, Guerilla Games has developed its post-apocalyptic marriage of technology and nature to craft a beautifully realised vision of a world desperate for rebirth. The new Formula One racing game from EA, called F1 2022, is almost here. It will arrive for the PS5 on 1 July, which is next Friday and also the opening day of the British Grand Prix weekend. Click the link below for everything we know so far on EA’s latest racing simulator.

Argos is currently having a PS5 restock. This is the disc edition on its own and not part of a bundle, and it carries the regular retail price of £449.99. However, this being Argos, finding where stock is actually available can be tricky.

We have seen the consoles available for some postcodes, but not all. So we can’t say for sure how much stock is available, or where. You’ll just have to head to the Argos website and try for yourself. Good luck!

Although it doesn’t have any stock on its website, Game has some PS5 consoles available in-store for customers to buy. So far today we’ve spotted that both branches in Bath have PS5 disc edition and digital editions in stock and ready for walk-in customers to buy.

We recommend calling your local branch to see what the PS5 stock situation is there, and to also check this Twitter list, which shows every tweet from all of Game’s physical stores. When consoles arrive, they tend to tweet about it.

As we mentioned in an earlier post, BT is giving its customers a helping hand when it comes to securing a PS5. Instead of throwing open the virtual doors and dealing with a stampede like other retailers, BT sends out unique voucher codes to its customers.

If you are a BT TV customer, for example, or subscribe to BT Sport, you can apply to receive a PS5 voucher code. These are emailed out sporadically and can be used to access a PS5 next time the BT store has a restock. You still have to pay the regular price, of course, but this system is a neat way of rewarding BT customers and giving them a better chance of securing a console.

Most retailers are currently sold out of PS5 stock, with both Amazon and Sony’s own PlayStation Direct store restocking on Tuesday, then running out just hours later.

As it stands, the BT Shop has PS5 consoles available exclusively to existing BT customers. These consoles are bundled with Horizon Forbidden West and a second Dualsense controller, for a total price of £549.97.

For those with a larger budget, The Game Collection is currently selling a massive bundle priced at £759.95. This includes a PS5 disc edition console, plus the following games:

Apart from that, it’s fairly slim pickings out there today. We’ll share more news on console restocks as soon as we have it.

Good morning, PS5 hunters, and welcome to another day here on the IndyBest live blog. We’ll be bringing you all of the latest restocking news for PS5 consoles and bundles, from the UK and US, throughout the day, in a bid to help you secure the elusive console.

That brings another day to a close, and it’s been a busy one. We saw stock come and go at Amazon, while the PlayStation Direct store had a PS5 disc edition drop this morning and stay with us all day. Consoles are also still available as bundles from The Game Collection and BT Shop.

We’ll be back again tomorrow with all of the latest PS5 restocking news from the UK and US.

Have you helped you buy a PS5? In that case you might also be in the market for a new television – especially one with 4K resolution and perhaps even a 120Hz refresh rate to take advantage of all that next-generation gaming horsepower.

To help you out, we’ve rounded up the best 4K television deals across all budgets. The buying guide includes options from Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic, among others, with prices starting at under £400.

Sverela branches of Smyths Toys in Northern Ireland have PS5 consoles in stock today. These are all the disc edition console, and it is being sold on its own instead of as part of a bundle. The stores and their current stock levels are:

Although Amazon has now sold out yet again, PS5 disc edition consoles are still available to buy on their own at Sony’s PlayStation Direct online store. These consoles are priced at the regular retail price of £449.99, or can be bought with Horizon Forbidden West for £499.99.

The PS5 bundle with Horizon Forbidden West, added to Amazon’s website this morning, is out of stock yet again. This drop was a surprise for two reasons. Firstly, because Amazon almost always restocks the PS5 on a Wednesday, and secondly because the retail giant also used today to release some early Prime Day deals.

Although Prime Day itself doesn’t arrive until 12 July, Amazon couldn’t help itself and today cut loads of prices across its store.

Studio has several PS5 bundles in stock today for home delivery. The cheapest is priced at £579.99 and includes a PS5 disc edition with Gran Turismo 7.

Adding Grand Theft Auto V to this bundle increase the price to £614.98, or adding an additional Dualsense controller instead costs £639.98. Lastly, the PS5 and GT7 bundle is available with the PS5 HD camera for £629.98.
