After a day of buzzing and beeping, tokens and tickets, the mall finally closed at night. The last employee toggled the switch on the arcade machine. After the door clicked, something appeared in the shadows. A small figure poked out his head, one after another.

Meet Gashlin! The small workers in the GASHA GO World arcade game machine ensure that the machine is ready for the upcoming busy day. Gashlings work together to use their creativity, determination and problem-solving skills to make everything in the arcade go smoothly.

GPB Education is pleased to announce that we have added paw control to the popular GASHA GO World game and animation for children aged 4-8. The game uses fascinating characters and interesting challenges to develop children's basic computer science (CS) skills. To help Gashlings make a stuffed claw machine for stuffed animals, Claw Control encourages children to break down complex problems into smaller parts, which is called decomposition in the CS world.

"We continue to hear from educators and employers that good basic computer science skills are essential and must be started from an early age, because CS occupations account for nearly 30% (and growing) of the top 15 occupational positions in Georgia. "GPB Education Director Laura Evans (Laura Evans) said. "Just as GPB does with all of our free digital learning resources, we are listening to the teaching needs of our state and engaging students in a very meaningful way."

Claw Control meets Georgia's Computer Science Excellence Standards (GSE). Teachers from the Georgia Department of Education and CS content experts consulted on the project. This new game joins the existing Bubble Build math game, which focuses on cultivating children's sense of number, that is, the sense of the meaning of numbers and their relationships. All games and animations of GASHA Go World can be found on gpb.org/gasha-go.
