In 2021, few Christmas gifts are more sought after than the Sony PlayStation 5 — or harder to find. The video game consoles released in November 2020 have been in short supply, partly because of the supply of microchips related to the pandemic and partly because of high demand.

Retailers have limited supply of consoles this year, and they have taken unusual measures when selling these consoles. Walmart releases batches as planned, and usually gives priority to paying Walmart+ subscribers. Amazon also restricts the sale of certain PS5 game consoles to Amazon Prime members, and Best Buy has its own premium paid service, Best Buy Totaltech, which allows members to receive PS5 replenishment first.

Therefore, if you have not found a PlayStation 5 yet-but are not ready to give up-you may want to consider one of the premium memberships; they may be your best chance to find a PS5 console before Christmas. You can also click the button below to try to purchase lucky PlayStation 5 replenishment at major retailers. (We also saw a large number of non-member PS5 replenishments during Christmas.)

If you can’t find PlayStation 5, there are still many great Christmas gifts to give to gamers. You can put them under the Christmas tree and in their stockings. Here are some game gifts to replace, and some other ideas when you can’t give someone a PlayStation 5 on Christmas morning.

If you can't find a PlayStation 5, the next best option might be to buy a $500 gift card-so they can buy a PS5 console themselves in 2022, when availability may be much better. All major retailers offer gift cards, but we prefer the special gift card transaction Amazon offers this year: when you purchase a $50 gift card, you will get a $10 credit line in your Amazon account two days later. In addition, you can get a gift card box for free-this is a great choice for a high-value gift card.

(Use code USGIFTCARD21 at checkout. This offer is only open to new Amazon gift card buyers.)

Not every game provides the same upgraded PS5 experience. Most upgrades support 4K graphics, some support DualSense features, and some provide 3D audio. (You can learn more about the PS4 to PS5 upgrade on Sony’s PlayStation website.)

These gaming headsets are designed for PlayStation 5 but are compatible with PlayStation 4, so they can use it now. These gaming headsets have hidden noise-canceling microphones and 12 hours of wireless playback on a single charge, as well as 3D audio on PS5 (if supported) .
