5 things we love about Arcade1Up’s Star Wars pinball machine | Star Wars

In the past few years, Arcade1Up has been committed to bringing the arcade experience home. The company has beautifully reproduced cabinet art and games, and has released ¾-scale versions of classic games, such as the original Star Wars arcade game, with great success. But the better news for silver fans is that Arcade1Up has expanded its range to fins, bumpers, and skill shooting worlds using digital pinball machines-with screens instead of actual cabinets in the game field, and pre-installed tables- Including an inspiration in the distant galaxy. I recently had the opportunity to play Star Wars Pinball by Arcade1Up, and found it to be a wonderful pinball experience that both long-term and new pinball fans can enjoy. Here is the biggest bright spot.

The most striking thing about Arcade1Up's Star Wars Pinball is that you feel like you are playing a physical pinball cabinet. Pull the plunger of the cabinet and release it, and the launcher immediately sends the ball upwards. Press the flippers button, you will hear them activated and feel the vibration when they move, hit the ball as you intended. If the ball hits the bumper, it will make a satisfying jingle! And shock. You can even tilt the machine to change the direction of the ball. This combination of effects provided by internal tactile feedback, and the almost perfect interaction between the cabinet and the digital table, truly completes the pinball experience. This is an amazing technical magic, amazing, I can't believe it works so well.

Part of the love for arcade and pinball games has always come from the cabinet itself. Objects, works of art, aesthetic surprises. Arcade1Up's Star Wars Pinball did not disappoint, showing a love for the tradition and art of machine design. The side panel uses exquisite inkjet original and sequel trilogy heroes and villains. The stunning illuminated rear box-showing character art on the front and X-wing and TIE fighter jets on the side-combines a digital display to reproduce movie scenes and provide instructions with charming retro graphics. At a ratio of ¾, the cabinet is easier to integrate into the family. On the whole, it is an elegant cabinet suitable for more civilized fans.

Arcade1Up's machine is pre-installed with 10 Star Wars tables from Zen Studios, which has been a supplier of excellent digital pinball games for many years. Although these watches have been released before, they are a fantastic collection that spans the entire legend. The themed tables range from "Star Wars: A New Hope" to "Star Wars Rebels" to Ahch-To Island. They are all useful pinball games in their own right, with well-designed game venues, storylines and modes. They are also full of surprises and wonderful animations using digital forms. On the Star Wars: The Force Awakens watch, Rey’s airship is used as a launcher; on Boba Fett’s desk, you can help the infamous bounty hunter escape Sarlacc by shooting with precision; when you unlock it on the Star Wars Rebels desk When there are multiple balls, Ghost will take off and throw the extra balls onto the playground. In addition, I have always liked Zen Studios' Star Wars pinball games, but playing them on Arcade1Up machines is a revelation; they are very suitable for controllers, but they are better and more immersive here.

For Zen Studios games, sound plays an important role in the experience. Each table has dubbing, sound effects and new classic Star Wars music. Arcade1Up's machine is equipped with dual front speakers, which can easily handle all problems, and the sound is loud and clear. You can also control the sound level-so if you like arcade noise, as they always do, turn up the volume.

I let two additional game testers work: my kids, they are three and six years old. To say that they are excited is an understatement, but I am surprised that they can master it and develop their skills so quickly. Like anyone who likes pinball, they immediately react to the physical interaction of the experience of pulling the plunger and pressing the flipper button, but they also love everything about Star Wars-they are dazzled when they unlock a mode, such as Kanan and Ezra will fight the stormtroopers. This has led to some wonderful round-robin matches between us, and every high score is a great pride. This may be the secret power of Arcade1Up's Star Wars pinball: it is not only for pinball professionals. It is suitable for everyone.
