Need a new gaming laptop? Look no further.

Gaming laptops represent an important part of the gaming community's hardware, and this is for good reason. They are mobile, pre-built, and are generally easier to install and run than desktop computers. This makes them ideal for busy professionals, students, developers, or anyone who wants a machine where they can play games.

The following laptops are the best 15-inch gaming laptops on the market today and are divided into three parts: the most affordable mid-range products and high-end games.

The following 15-inch gaming laptops are suitable for those looking for performance on a budget, all priced under $1,000.

The i5-9300H and GTX 1650 constitute the main specifications of this HP Pavilion 1080p gaming laptop. It's enough to play modern games at lower settings and resolutions, but don't expect anything to run reliably on Ultra presets.

With only 8GB RAM and a shortage of 256GB, coupled with generations of CPUs and GPUs, you must be aware of what games you play. Due to lack of storage space, some older games have problems: For example, Microsoft Flight Simulator requires at least 127GB of installation space before including any DLC or custom camouflage. Some modern games now require at least 16GB of RAM for reliable performance, such as ARMA 3 or Cyberpunk 2077.

Nitro 5 is a relatively inexpensive 15-inch gaming laptop with a powerful impact. It is equipped with i5-10300H and RTX 3050, which are two good hardware that can handle most modern AAA games at a lower resolution.

In other words, being a 30 series RTX card does not mean that you can play in ultra-preset or 4K resolution. Testing by Hardware Unboxed found that the RTX 3050 laptop-even when paired with an 11th-generation Intel CPU-is largely equivalent to or slightly inferior to older laptops equipped with RTX 2060. Lower settings-or you can enable DLSS for higher frame rate games.

ASUS is one of the largest manufacturers of gaming laptops, especially through its Republic gaming brand. The Strix G15 model updated in 2021 is equipped with RTX 3050 GPU and Ryzen 7 4800H. This combination can reliably reach 60 FPS in games with some adjustments.

Although initially shipped in early 2020, the older Ryzen 7 4800H CPU performed strongly in gaming and productivity workloads. Strix G15 has two additional advantages: it is equipped with a screen that supports 144Hz and 512GB of storage space, both of which are very suitable for playing games. However, the default 8GB RAM configuration of Strix G15 may encourage some people to upgrade to a better specification model.

These laptops are suitable for gamers who have a slightly flexible budget and don't mind spending a bit more for higher performance and convenience. The prices of the two laptops here are both between US$1,000 and US$2,000.

There are two models of GF65: GF65 is equipped with six-core i5-10500H CPU and RTX 3050, while GF65 Thin is equipped with a slightly better i7-10750H CPU and RTX 3060.

The difference between the two laptops is about $400, but if you can buy the 10750H/RTX 3060 version, then the performance is worth it. In some games, the performance difference between the RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 models can be as high as 25%, and the GF65 can even outperform some laptop configurations with a new generation of CPUs.

Coupled with 2666MHz of 16GB RAM, 144Hz display and 1TB SSD, GF65 is one of the most cost-effective products among gaming laptops today.

Asus' "Ultimate Force", or TUF, F15 laptop is a direct competitor of the aforementioned GF65, but there are some subtle differences. It is equipped with a slightly newer CPU and RTX 3060 in the i7-11800H, both of which can handle modern AAA games under reasonable settings.

However, i7-11800H is an eight-core CPU, not the six-core CPU in GF65. This makes it more suitable for non-gaming applications such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, CAD work, 3D rendering or programming. The RAM of the TUF F15 is also slightly faster, running at 3200MHz, although all of these come with an additional premium.

These laptops are where you really start paying premium prices. Due to continuing chip shortages, many high-end gaming laptops in 2021 will be hundreds of dollars higher due to their CPUs and GPUs, many of which are in short supply. Warn of tight budgets.

This iteration of Razer Blade 15 Advanced witnessed the return of i7-1800H, adding an RTX 3080. The RTX 3080 is currently one of the most popular GPUs on the market. Its sound is sufficient to run e-sports-centric games such as Valorant and Counter-Strike: global offensive at very high frame rates.

The latest Blade 15 Advanced has 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and ultra-thin design, as well as an ultra-fast 360Hz screen for gaming. Although the characteristics of gaming laptops mean that you won't be close to 360 FPS in most games, the combination of Blade 15 Advanced will comfortably handle any game at 1080p with all settings maximized.

Alienware competes with Blade 15 Advanced in the form of M15 R6. Equipped with i7-11800H and RTX 3080 GPU, the M15 R6 is almost the same in specifications as the Blade 15, with some minor differences.

However, the RTX 3080 in the M15 R6 only has 8GB VRAM instead of the 10GB model in the Razer Blade 15. The Alienware M15 R6 also has a slightly slower screen, running at 240Hz instead of 360Hz. In other words, gaming laptops are extremely unlikely to run most games over 240 FPS, let alone 360 FPS, which is required to take full advantage of high refresh rate displays.

The memory differences between laptop configurations are also unlikely to make a huge difference in most video games, especially because the M15 R6 screen only runs at 1080p-a resolution that does not make full use of all the available memory on the RTX 3080. With this in mind, and considering that you can save more than $500, it might be worth considering the M15 R6 instead of Razer.

Despite the lack of desktop upgradeability and longevity, gaming laptops are an indispensable tool for students, professionals, and gamers who need versatility. Gaming laptops are a space-saving option for people who need a PC but don’t have extra peripherals such as a monitor or the space that a full desktop might need. By 2021, their prices are getting cheaper, and if you are not the type that likes inserting components and messing up case screws, then these laptops are a good starting point.
