Justice League Unlimited's Susan Eisenberg explains why the upcoming Wonder Woman video game was a long-overdue project for the character.

Longtime Wonder Woman voice actor Susan Eisenberg has voiced her thoughts on the iconic DC hero getting her own solo video game.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CBR where she discussed her history voicing Wonder Woman in Justice League Unlimited and the Injustice video games, Eisenberg also gave her thoughts on the upcoming video game from Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Games. "I am so happy that fans are getting what they want, because they have waited so long to get things like a feature film, and now a game, so now they're just waiting on an animated series," she said. "So hopefully fans can get everything."

In the past, Princess Diana of Themyscira has featured in supporting or ensemble roles in various animated projects, though as Eisenberg noted, an animated series starring Wonder Woman has yet to happen. In the realm of video games, while she has featured prominently in franchises like the Lego Batman and Injustice series, the upcoming game will mark her first time headlining her own solo title. To Eisenberg, the game is long overdue and a step in the right direction for Wonder Woman who, despite her iconic status as one of DC's trinity, hasn't always been given the same spotlight as her male counterparts like Batman and Superman.

"It's not that I would take anything away from them, but I just it to be added to her," Eisenberg said. "I need Wonder Woman to be treated as an equal. Because I don't think, up until this moment, she has been. And that's a whole other interview that we can have another day! She's an equal part of that trinity, but she doesn't get treated as such. I know some people that are working on the game, and I'm so glad it's finally happening."

Details on Wonder Woman have been scarce since the game's announcement in late 2021, though its brief teaser trailer indicated that the game's story will see the titular hero called back to her birthplace of Themyscira to combat something that threatens her fellow Amazons. Monolith Productions also previously confirmed that the Nemesis System, which is used in titles like Shadow of War and Shadow of Mordor, will again be implemented in Wonder Woman, though exactly how it will be utilized remains unknown.

Wonder Woman does not yet have a release date.
