Coney Island’s amusement park will open in the summer on April 9th-giving Brooklyn people the opportunity to experience the country’s best rides for the first time in 18 months.

However, both parks have made some changes to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Here are the things you need to do before you go:

Luna Park and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park both limit their capacity to 33%, which means that if you want to fly around in Seaside Swings or scream in Cyclone, you should book in advance. Each park has its own booking process.

To enter Deno's Wonder Wheel amusement park-which contains the famous Wonder Wheel and children's rides, virtual reality rides, etc.-visitors can click here to book for free on the park's website. Tickets for the rides are sold at the ticket booths in the park.

To visit Luna Park-there are Cyclone, Thunderbolt, Scream Zone, etc.-attendees need to click here in advance to purchase their wristbands online. Park visitors can arrive at the park 30 minutes before or after the admission time, but if they are later than that time, entry is not guaranteed.

Visitors can stay in the park for up to two hours. Tickets can be purchased and booked up to two weeks in advance.

If your trip to Coney Island involves taking the F train, you may need to develop other travel plans.

From this summer to all weekends in August (except the weekend of July 4), due to signal upgrades, all F train services between Church Avenue and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue will be suspended. To the People’s Playground, you can change to D, N, Q trains, or take the free F-train shuttle bus.

Both parks are mandatory for all guests over the age of two to wear masks. Bring some spare parts-a Thunderbolt ride may make your plane fly.

Both parks are only open on the weekends before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Luna Park will be open from 11 am to 7 pm in April and May, and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park will be open from 11 am to 6 pm in the spring. During the peak summer season, the park will be open every day.

In addition to the mandatory wearing of masks and capacity restrictions, the park will also install hand disinfection stations every time you ride, and the park will frequently clean all frequently touched surfaces. The seats, dining areas and routes will all maintain social distance.

Although Japanese theme parks banned screaming in 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there is no such ban in Luna Park or Deno's Wonder Wheel Park.

All park rides will be open-including the indoor "Stop the Zombies" rides at Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, which will only accept one group at a time. Luna Park will launch six new children’s rides, and Deno’s new 68-foot-tall Phoenix roller coaster is expected to open within a few months.

The only part of the park that will remain closed is Luna Park's new amusement park, which includes large log waterway rides and rope courses, which has been under construction since 2018.
