Anne Heche was taken off life support yesterday, after recipients for her organs were found.  Anne was declared brain dead on Friday, but was kept alive until it was time to donate her organs. Multiple organs will be donated, but the family didn’t say which ones. Anne was facing a possible felony DUI charge, but obviously, the LAPD dropped its investigation.  Prior to her death it was reported that she’d been under the influence of cocaine and possibly fentanyl when she crashed her car into a house in Los Angeles and caused a serious fire.  She was 53 years old. Ellen DeGeneres, who famously dated Anne from 1997 to 2000, Tweeted, quote, “This is a sad day.  I’m sending Anne’s children, family and friends all of my love.”  Anne’s subsequent relationships were all with men.  She was married once and had two kids.

Author Salman Rushdie is on the road to recovery after being stabbed Friday in Western New York state. Rushdie was about to give a speech in New York when 24-year-old Hadi Matar ran up onstage and stabbed him several times.  Rushdie suffered liver damage and severed nerves in one arm and one eye. He will probably lose the eye, and while he’s headed in the right direction, this will be a long recovery. This was likely an assassination attempt based on the FATWA that was issued against Rushdie back in 1988 by Iran’s spiritual leader, the Ayatollah, over Rushdie’s book, “The Satanic Verses”. The book was considered offensive to Muslims.

In an interview with ABC News in December, Alec Baldwin denied he pulled the trigger of the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchinson the set of the movie “Rust”.

But the FBI forensic report is in, and the experts say the gun, quote, “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger.” Alec’s attorney would like you to know that the FBI report doesn’t mean he’s guilty.  Quote, “The critical report is the one from the medical examiner, who concluded that this was a tragic accident.” This is the third time the New Mexico authorities have found that Alec Baldwin had no authority or knowledge of the allegedly unsafe conditions on the set, that he was told by the person in charge of safety on the set that the gun was ‘cold,’ and believed the gun was safe.”

More theatrical screenings have been announced for Clerks III.  Lionsgate had previously announced that Clerks III would show in theaters for two days only, which would be Sept. 13 and Sept. 15. Because of the high demand for more screenings, four more theatrical dates have been added: Sept. 14, 16, 17, and 18. In other words, the film will screen in theaters from Sept. 13-18.

There’s trouble brewing underneath the Disney umbrella.  Mark Ruffalo. . . who plays the Hulk in the Marvel Universe . . . threw some serious shade at “Star Wars” in a new interview. Mark is playing Hulk again in the Disney+ show “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”, and he says he’s not worried about there being too much Marvel content. Quote, “The thing Marvel has done well is that, inside the MCU, just as they do with comic books, they let a director or an actor sort of recreate each piece to their own style, their likeness. Marvel generally lets them bring that to the material…If you watch a ‘Star Wars’, you’re pretty much going to get the same version of ‘Star Wars’ each time . . . But with Marvel you can have a whole different feeling even within the Marvel Universe.”

Tom Holland announced he’s taking a social media break for his mental health.  He said Instagram and Twitter are overstimulating and overwhelming. Quote, “I get caught up, and I spiral when I read things about me online, and, ultimately, it’s very detrimental to my mental state, so I decided to take a step back and delete the app.” He only jumped back on to let everyone know how he’s been feeling, and to promote a U.K. charity that his Brothers Trust foundation sponsors.  It’s called Stem4 and it supports teenage mental health.

The Brad Pitt action film Bullet Train led all movies in ticket sales for a second straight weekend, while a quiet spell in theaters allowed Top Gun: Maverick to rocket back into third place in its 12th week of release. Globally, Bullet Train has grossed $114.5 million.

KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has once again said that he doesn’t know exactly when and where the final concert of the band’s “End Of The Road” tour will take place. KISS launched its farewell trek in January 2019 but was forced to put it on hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “End Of The Road” was originally scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2021 in New York City but has since been extended to at least early 2023. Gene discussed KISS’s last-ever performance: he said “it’ll be the last show. KISS the touring band will stop. But the touring band. KISS will continue in other ways. I have no problems with four deserving 20-year-olds sticking the makeup back on and hiding their identity.”

Aerosmith will resume its 2022 after Steven Tyler relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program earlier this year. Tyler’s feeling good and is ready to rock, writing last week on social media “Not to toot my own horn but get ready to be blown away!” The tour resumes in Maine on September 4th.

Last week, we found out that Michelle Branch and her husband Patrick Carney of the Black Keys were getting divorced.  Michelle issued a statement saying she was “totally devastated” and had the rug pulled out from under her . . . and she claimed she found out that Patrick was CHEATING on her. Well, there’s a little bit more to the story.  After their split was announced, Michelle was ARRESTED by Nashville police for domestic assault.  She’s accused of slapping Patrick one or two times in the face. Michelle and Patrick started dating in 2015 and were married in 2019.  They have a son who’s 4 and a daughter who was just born in February.  Michelle also has a child from a previous marriage.

Country superstar Morgan Wallen sure knows how to entertain a crowd, as demonstrated by last night’s (Aug. 13) headlining show at the three-day Tidalwave Music Festival in Atlantic City, N.J. Although his set included plenty of expected fan favorites – such as a few from 2021’s Dangerous: The Double Album, which he’s currently supporting – he also surprised everyone by incorporating Linkin Park’s beloved “In the End” into a larger medley. If you’re lucky enough to see this in concert you’d also here..You Give Love A Bad Name, Sugar Were Going Down, and Pour Some Sugar On Me.

Remember back in June when Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander tried to crash her wedding?  He has been convicted (LINK) of aggravated trespassing and battery.  Here’s when he walked onto her property, was confronted by security, and bragged to some of the workers who he was. The penalty?  He pleaded guilty to the two misdemeanor counts and was sentenced to the 64 days he’d already served in jail.  Prosecutors dropped charges of felony stalking and misdemeanor vandalism.  Jason’s 40 years old.

After 25 years Metallica’s James Hetfield filed for divorce from his wife, Francesca, earlier this year. The two met in 1992 and were married in 1997.  They share three children together. Hetfield had long credited Francesca with helping him through his dark times, specifically with anger issues, revealing that she once threatened to take the kids out of their home if he couldn’t control his temper.

Ringo Starr put down the drumsticks on Saturday and picked up his phone, much to the shock and awe of his two million Twitter followers. Clearly Ringo was trying to give a plug to the Blu-ray release of the Peter Jackson series Get Back. For some reason, though, he included his feet. Some of the responses were positive (“The feet that pounded out the beat!” one person said), and some seemed quite delighted (“for free!” was an alarmingly common reaction), but most seemed to suggest the image was ill-considered. The dialogue continued, with one Twitter user writing “bestie pls stop putting dogs on our tl we’re begging.”

Spotify has quietly just launched its own ticket-selling website. The company will let you know when the artists you play on Spotify have a show coming up. Tickets.Spotify.com has only seven artists featured on their page so far as the company’s running it more as a “test site”. The streamer also says you won’t have to close Spotify to buy your tickets from other sites now. See which artists you like have shows coming up in your Spotify’s “My Events” tab.

Weezer has canceled its Broadway residency over “low ticket sales and unbelievably high expenses,” according to the band. The band set a week-long residency at The Broadway Theatre in September to perform cycles of their SZNZ project. Frontman Rivers Cuomo wrote on Discord “I’m very sorry to be telling you this now after we’ve already invested so much time, thought, and emotion. Extra apologies to those of you who cleared schedules and made travel plans to be with us.” Cuomo added that the band hopes to “resurrect the vision” of the show.

Unless you’re super disciplined, the first thing you do with your first big paycheck is buy something.  Sometimes it’s something big, sometimes not.  Here’s what various celebs splurged on when they finally started making big bucks”

Jose Quintana and Jordan Montgomery, both left-handers, have made six starts since we got em at the trade deadline. The Cardinals have won all six of those games, with Montgomery, who came from the New York Yankees, receiving credit for the three wins he was out for.

Including the Cardinals’ 5-1 win last night over Colorado at Busch Stadium, the two new guys have combined for 33 2/3 innings pitched and six earned runs allowed. And none of the players we gave up to get those fellas is playing in the majors right now. Nolan Gorman, had a great game and put up 3 of the Cardinals’ runs. Another rookie Brendan Donovan had 3 hits and drove in another. That was the Cardinals 11th win in 14 games this month. Cardinals play a little day baseball today. Oh some day ball Cards VS Rockies again today 1215pm at Busch.

My favorite club in my favorite sport are a complete disaster right now and more sweat than fun to watch. BUT I STILL DO. Tons of the trouble has been laid at the feet of the ownership. It works a little differently over there too where the ownership and how the club is run is arguably more of a factor than we would be used to here in the states Welp, the Glazer family is reportedly open to selling a minority stake in Manchester United amid the growing unrest surrounding the ownership of the club – but the Americans want £5billion to cede some control of the Red Devils. Discussions have already begun in regards to bringing in a new investor at Old Trafford, although details are few and far between at this early stage. As a result, the identities of the people involved are yet to be revealed. This is a big step in the Glazer family’s running of the club, but they are not yet prepared to hand over full control of Man United.

LeBron and Bronny James are one step closer to being teammates in the NBA — the King just inked a 2-year, $97.1 million deal to stay with the Lakers through the 2023-24 season … which will make him a free agent when his son becomes eligible for the draft. The NBA superstar hasn’t shied away from his dream of playing alongside his oldest … he’s mentioned it several times and made his intentions crystal clear (LINK). LeBron’s new deal now gives him the opportunity to opt out and become a free agent the same season Bronny enters the 2024 NBA Draft … paving the way for him to sign with whatever team picks the current 17-year-old baller. It would mark the first time both a father and son played in the Association at the same time — and even though LeBron will be 39 when 2024 rolls around, he’s determined to make it happen apparently. The NBA is encouraging fans and players to do their part this Election Day. The league announced Tuesday that they won’t schedule games on Nov. 8 this season, to motivate fans to get out and vote. “The NBA today announced that no games will be played on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022,” the NBA Communications account posted on Twitter. “The scheduling decision came out of the NBA family’s focus on promoting nonpartisan civic engagement and encouraging fans to make a plan to vote during midterm elections.” Instead, all 30 of the league’s teams will play the day prior, during a special league-wide viewing night. Programming during Nov. 7 games will provide viewers with important voting information and resources.

The Patriots and Panthers’ joint practice Wednesday looked more like a WWE match … ’cause the two teams got into a huge brawl — and the skirmish was so big, a fan was actually injured in the melee. The fight initially started after Carolina star running back Christian McCaffrey was pissed over a tackle Patriots defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. put on him during 11-on-11 drills. The 26-year-old got up after the hit and threw the ball at the Pats D-lineman … and that’s when all hell broke loose. Video shows a bunch of Panthers players going after Wise and his teammates right near fans who were sitting in the bleachers — and, at one point, players were thrown into the spectators. According to Pat’s reporter Tom Curran, a woman sitting in the stands was injured after one of the players’ helmets hit her foot. She reportedly refused any medical help, and did get an offer for tickets to a game later this season. This is the second brawl between the Panthers and Pats this week – LINK

Pro golfer Patrick Reed filed a lawsuit against commentator Brandel Chamblee and the Golf Channel, seeking $750 million in damages for defamation. Reed alleges that Chamblee, a Golf Channel analyst, has “actively” targeted Reed to “destroy his reputation, create hate, and a hostile work environment” for the player – LINK

Teachers will be calling on a lot more Kobes in about five years. As KTLA reports, the name “Kobe” tops the list of baby names presumably inspired by sports stars between 2000 and 2021. The list, compiled by Betsperts, found that more than 17,000 infants born in the US in that time period were given the same name as the NBA great, who was killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020. After his death, parents’ selection of “Kobe” saw a whopping 201% spike from the previous year. That percentage increase was topped by none other than “Tiger” (for Tiger Woods), which experienced a 225% jump between 2009 and 2010. Here are the top 10 names:
